In Mali they say a library is burnt down when an old artist dies. This really fits the description of Keletigui Diabate. Kele played many instruments: guitar, saxophone, trumpet, violin, but his main instrument was the balafon. Kele had a long career starting in the late fifties and has played with everyone! He modernized the balafon-playing by using two balafons tuned differently at the same time. Coming from a family of musicians he has passed on his vast knowledge to his son Fassery.
